In addition to mobile scanning, the SpurrOpen platform provides a web-based subscribers list that allows authorized staff to manually validate and consume tickets. This method is typically used by a gate support officer as a best-practice fallback for situations such as when :
- A patron arrives without their QR code
- The QR code is damaged or unreadable
- A device issue prevents mobile scanning at that moment
This approach ensures access is properly controlled while preventing duplicate ticket use later.
Steps to access
- Login to SpurrOpen.com and navigate to Manage Accounts.
- Select the respective business account from the listing.
- Select the respective portal from the list of portals.
- Select Subscriber List from the Reports menu.
After you access the listing, locate the attendee using available search options such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Order ID
- Ticket type
Once the details are verfied and you confirm the ticket matches the patron and the correct event and access level. Mark the ticket (or specific item on the ticket) as used/consumed in the system.
Once a ticket is consumed via the subscribers list, the ticket is officially marked as used and so the same QR code cannot be scanned or reused later. This keeps gate records accurate and maintains event security even when mobile scanning cannot be performed.
Best-Practice Notes
- Manual consumption should be performed only by authorized technical or supervisory staff
- Always verify patron identity before consuming a ticket
- Use this method as a controlled exception, not a replacement for standard scanning
The subscribers list provides a reliable backup validation method, ensuring smooth gate operations and consistent access control under all circumstances.
